I don't ship it but I fear for its canonity for the same reason. Molly deserves better and I wish she'd get over him, really get over him and find someone really nice and it ends up permanently bruising Sherlock's massive ego.

If there is one thing I want the series to have, it's this. But I have a feeling it won't happen because Molly's hopeless crush on Sherlock is still the butt of jokes.

I had high hopes for Molly's boyfriend. I was hoping he'd turn out to be a really nice guy who puts Sherlock in his place and yells at him for always making Molly feel like shit, but no, it's just another stupid joke about how Molly can never ever get over Sherlock. :( I hate that a character as wonderfully clever and sweet as Molly can have her feelings cheapened for laughs.

I am honestly a bit confused. So you ship it...but not when it's OOC or IC? Aren't those the two options? How do you ship it? What do you picture their relationship as? (I am not sure this is coming across well, but I am really just curious about how you picture it.)

I don't ship it but Molly is ADORABLE in that art. So so adorable. <3

(And I agree, she does deserve someone else who will appreciate her more and want the same things from a relationship.)

For some reason, if a character canonically crushes on another character, it's a No for me. I just turn off about it and I'm like, Move on! They didn't notice you, so find someone who deserves your attention!

I'm that way, too. I especially dislike it when shows drag out the crush forever and eventually have the crush object realize that they loved the person that was crushing on them all along.

Oh god, I don't ever want it in canon. (Of course, I ship her with Mycroft, which is even worse.) I think the best choice for Molly would probably be Lestrade.

I ship Sherlock/Molly because, as a writer, I'm excited by the challenge of making it convincing whilst keeping S&M (Hmmmm) in character. I'm sure it must be possible, but I haven't managed to work out how yet.

[But, as far as 'deserving better' goes, Molly wants what she wants. She tried 'moving on' and what did she get for it? -- Moriarty and an inferior Sherlock clone. So she still wants what she wants, and anything less than what she wants can never be 'better'. Her heart is never going to listen to her head.]
