Rape versus murder is a dumb argument and not worth debating.

wellp, I'm a rape survivor, and I'd very much rather be raped again than murdered. I kind of like being alive.

First of all, there are arguably worse things than death.

Second of all, this is a game where no one wins. It's really not worth deciding which is worse when they're both so terribly bad.

No. OP was an asshole. Maybe you don't min being spoiled, but for most people it is serious business.

If you're on the internet, then you have no reasonable expectation of not being spoiled for something. It sucks when it happens, but it's kind of a risk that you take.

This is the 21st century: it's practically impossible not to be spoiled for stuff if you either
- speak to another human being
- watch the news
- read newspapers
- end up on public transport full of people
etc...

Frankly, I do not think spoilers deserve such extreme reactions as we sometimes see and more lately: there is more to good stories than the element of surprise.

For instance, each time I watch a new Sherlock Holmes adaptation, I already know about Moriarty and all the rest. Now that I think about it, I knew about all those things BEFORE I actually read Conan Doyle's books. And I cannot say it spoiled my enjoyment all that much if at all.

A bit like having read the Lord of the Rings and already knowing how it ended did not spoil my enjoyment of the movies when they came out. Except inasmuch as I felt that Peter Jackson had completely missed the whole point of the trilogy, but that's an entirely different matter.

To me the element of surprise is the main reason for watching.

99 percent of media I will never rewatch after I saw it once, even if I enjoyed it, because it has lost the element of surprise.

So, cool you feel that way - but not everyone is like you.

You take that risk by going and reading things...to have someone go out of their way to send them to you is not par for the course
