The scene was a a reference to hentai doujins. Don't ask me why, but there are lots of doujins about guys or girls molested/raped by faceless old men. That's why a lot of people were saying that the scene was like one of their Japanese porn comics. The fact that Armin was molested by an old fat man was very hentai-like. And then you have the "I used to be straight, you made me gay", another common hentai line.

iirc, I don't think the character even said "gay" - he said something like "you made me like that". Granted, probably a homosexual implication, but definitely not "straight out of a hentai" line.
