Piper, pipe that song again

What stories do you never get sick of no matter how many times you read/watch/hear them?

I can watch The Princess Bride pretty much any time, and never not enjoy it. Just watched it again for Valentine's Day, actually!

if we're talking specifics, there are several movies I can watch over and over. Some examples are Jurassic Park, Jaws, Aliens, While You Were Sleeping, Die Hard and The Covenant.

What do you mean? Those are all rom-coms.

"A Thorough Examination/In Depth," the BBC Sherlock fic where John does his "examination" and sequel (second chapter?). I skip over the (gag) electricity part, but everything else- Dear God, it's gold.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching Jesus Christ Superstar. So damn good.

Any of the Star Wars movies. Babylon 5 (watched it through 6 times in the last few years and probably going to start another watch-through soon). Wizard's First Rule (the rest of the series is mostly crap, but I keep rereading the first book).

I can happily read Jane of Lantern Hill and The Blue Castle over and over again--and I do, whenever I'm feeling depressed and in need of cheering up.

Beauty and the Beast. In any format.

Also Galaxy Quest.

Back when I had more disposable income, I saw the stage show Phantom of the Opera 20-odd times. Over a period of 15 or so years, but yeah. I wish I still had the money to do things like that. Or that the original touring production was still running. I might see the new tour eventually, but considering the weird watered down costume designs and one particular blocking choice sound really really dodgy, maybe not. Oh well, the 25th anniversary concert isn't a replacement for the real deal by any means, but that plus bootlegs is a lot cheaper than even a nosebleed seat.

Thanks to the title of this thread, you've reminded me that I can read The Songs of Innocence and The Songs of Experience a bazillion times and find something new every time. :) That introductory poem pretty much sums up why poems and songs and stories are so important to me better than any giant dissertation ever could

Piping down the valleys wild
Piping songs of pleasant glee
On a cloud I saw a child.
And he laughing said to me.

Pipe a song about a Lamb;
So I piped with merry chear,
Piper pipe that song again—
So I piped, he wept to hear.

Drop thy pipe thy happy pipe
Sing thy songs of happy chear,
So I sung the same again
While he wept with joy to hear

Piper sit thee down and write
In a book that all may read—
So he vanish'd from my sight.
And I pluck'd a hollow reed.

And I made a rural pen,
And I stain'd the water clear,
And I wrote my happy songs
Every child may joy to hear
