I wish I could get into western comics, specifically cape comics because the fandom is huge and there's tons of fic, but I just can't get into 'em. Superheros do nothing for me. I feel so left out.

Thank you. It seems most of comics fandom focuses on cape comics and so that's what gets all the fic. Are there any decent sized fandoms for non-cape comics? And I'm willing to give superhero comics another shot.

The horrifying thing is that the list is on Tumblr. How low has /co/ fallen, it makes me sad.

It's just a way to display them easily, besides they didn't think to use a booru at the time.

What comics do you like? There are so many different type of superhero comics, I am sure there is one out there for you.

I've not really read much, tbh. The few superhero comics I've read have done nothing for me. I can enjoy the cartoons like Teen Titans and Justice League, but for some reason I just can't get hooked onto them. I think it's the ridiculousness of it all and the fact that they want me to take people parading around in gaudy outfits seriously.

Same here - I'm still hesitant to get into superhero comics, because it's so old and the fandom's so big & intimidating (and mostly guys) and there's all this continuity.

If you enjoy mythology & more magicky-based stuff, I would recommend Sandman & Hellblazer. Both are completed and self-contained. I'm really enjoying them at the moment.

There's also Hellboy, which, again, doesn't have the massive continuity thing of superhero comics, and it's completed.

Exactly, plus it is hard for me to suspend my disbelief when if comes to superheroes. Omg, I keep meaning to pick up Hellboy but keep forgetting!! Thanks for the recs.

yeah I think it's more difficult to suspend disbelief w/r/t superheroes, because it's meant to be set in the "modern day" or some equivalent of the present, and a lot of it relies on science-fiction explanations for things.
