What can help get past that intimidated stage sometimes is just telling yourself the story as you type rather than trying to craft a perfect piece of writing. It can be easier to fix up a terrible rough draft than to write something good from the start. Give yourself permission to do it badly and then revise it later. That helps me take the pressure off.
