Why was it your favorite ending, OP?

To be honest, I weirdly liked it more than the "happy" ending, mainly because I thought it suited the character and the dark storyline between them, and was the only time he seemed... er, how do I say, that he was in love with Aoba, albeit insanely? The "good" ending was too forgiving of all the bad shit he did, and he didn't even seem particularly sorry for it. Didn't understand why Aoba went for him. At least the bad ending was consistent.

Yeah, that was pretty much my feeling on it. I liked the good ending as well, but even in the sequel I don't think it did a good enough job at explaining how his character had changed, so like you said the bad ending felt more consistent. Even though he was doing this horrible thing, in a twisted way he was doing it to protect Aoba and because he cared for him.

Yeah, that was my sense. It seemed like he had this sense to protect Aoba by doing horrible things. The good ending didn't explain it at all, and I didn't even get a sense that he particularly cared about Aoba.

I haven't played the sequel yet! I think when I played the original, the English patch wasn't out yet for the sequel... is it now? I should check this out.

Yeah, the english patch is out on fuwanovel I think. Overall I wasn't too impressed with it though. Mink's bad ending is decent again but I was kind of lukewarm about most of the others. Probably because I really enjoyed the story part of the original game and the sequel is much more focused on sex.

Oh, that's a shame. I was actually impressed at how story-focused the original game was. Some of the characters' stories affected the plot in more interesting ways than others, but the atmosphere was pretty developed. Even the sex scenes seemed well done to me (and not PWP at all). Too bad the sequel doesn't do much in that regard, but I might check it out anyway.

It's much more of an extended epilogue rather than a sequel I think. I went into it expecting a continuation of the story or a new story which is why I was disappointed.
