Oooh! What did he do? I bet he was tired, I work from 9:30 to 18:00 only and most of the time I'm standing up and moving around (no chairs in the kitchen).

I want to have my own restaurant/café, but to be honest, I know I suck majorly at anything administrative. I'm way happier when I'm working with my hands at the kitchen, it's really satisfactory (and for someone who thinks so much her thoughs are racing all the time, it's even a blessing to be able to concentrate like I do when I'm in there).

He was a chef and eventually opened his own restaurant. Both my grandfathers did--my dad has always said that Greeks love the restaurant business because they hate taking orders and want a job where they can be their own boss!

I've often heard people say that cooking is meditative for them--they're very focused, it's a flow experience. On the other hand, I'm one of those people who manages to needlessly overcomplicate everything and make the simplest things stressful, and cooking is no exception. I like to make food, but I know my limits--it takes a cooler head and a bolder temperament than mine (and a lot more creativity with food) to be a chef! I really admire anyone who can do it.
