I actually kind of dislike Ned. I mean, not only was he honorable but stupid, but he actually endangered his family. And he held people to impossible standards without ever trying to find out the whole truth (case in point: Jaime). And, particularly, his relationship with Robert that he continues in spite of everything and he never calls Robert out.

So he's just as layered and grey as anyone else in my mind, and maybe in some ways worse because he doesn't recognize it in himself.

I agree with the others, though.
