Oh, I didn't know about this adaptation, but IA, OP.

Seriously, Bernadette Peters was perfect because she was not the stereotypical "witch" .. and damn, her singing! I still remember her "Stay with Me" and "Children Will Listen".

I've never seen/read Into the Woods, so I don't know the story, but I'd love to see Mamie play the younger version of her mother's character in something. Has she done it before?

Honestly this casting made me wish Bernadette Peters. If you were going to ignore the young in the young and beautiful description I would have much rather had her.
