What was wrong with Stardust?

I don't mean that as sarcasm- I'm honestly curious; I tried to read the book, but Neil Gaiman's novel writing style doesn't work for me, but I had so much fun with the movie.

Same here. I just didn't really enjoy the book, but I really liked the movie.

Yeah, and it was fun because both of my parents actually liked it too, and my Dad liking something is... Not common. :D

Plus I really liked the ending, and thought it was cute. I mean, maybe I'm just a bit of a hopeless romantic, but I liked it a lot better than the book ending...

I'm just a sucker for happy endings, so I liked it better too.

Exactly! I read the book after the film tho, maybe that was part of the problem? But I adore the film and the book did absolutely nothing for me.

Dunno about the OP, and I haven't read the book for comparison, but I found the movie much too predictable. Still an enjoyable movie, don't get me wrong, I just don't find it ~thrilling fun~ the way a lot of people seem to.

YMMV. I thought it was cliche/predictable the same way that The Princess Bride is, though not quite to that extent- The Princess Bride is in a class of it's own IMO.
