Agreed. You might have to sift through a lot of shitty corners of tumblr before you find the good stuff, but there are lots of good and intelligent people there. It's an adventure entering a new fandom and finding out the right group of people to follow, but they generally stick to the same circles and know who to ignore.

The trick to tumblr is to basically only use tags to find blogs that will fill your dash with stuff you like. Other than that just steer clear of the tags and remember to download extensions like tumblr savior or xkit to blacklist certain terms and block any SJW you frequently see and your pretty much in the clear.

Yeah it might be a lot of work, but I think it's worth it because tumblr has some of the best hub for fandoms to share infomation, fanwork, discussions, and writing meta. It's definitely worth at least giving a chance.
