Harold Ramis

So, he died. Heard it on the radio and was like, "holy shit." That man was brilliant. His movies were such a huge part of my childhood. He'd been sick for a while, though, so at least he's no longer suffering through that.

And I can't help but think about how good a thing it is that he and Bill Murray patched things up. Can you imagine falling out with a good friend and one of you dying before you had the chance to work things out? That'd be awful.

Anyway, just had to bring him up, F!S. It's a sad day.

I had no idea :(

I really liked his sense of humor.

Honestly, the first time I watched Ghostbusters, I didn't pay that much attention to him, but with repeated viewings, his and Ernie Hudson's performances became my favorites.

I agree it was his and Ernie Hudson's performances that made the movie so great.

Ghostbusters was my favorite movie for so much of my childhood! The label on the spine of our VHS copy got all worn and darkened with repeated handling.

We are watching Ghostbusters right now. He will be greatly missed.

Did he and Murray actually patch things up? It sounded like it was mostly on Murray's side, from what I'd read, and Ramis didn't harbor any ill will. The message I saw from Murray was mostly talking about what he and Ramis had done together and, well, just didn't seem as heartfelt as some of the other messages, like from Dan Akroyd & others. I hope they really did patch things up because things like that always make me sad.

The Chicago Tribune mentioned that Murray had visited him within the past few weeks. Sucks that he waited until Ramis was dying to do it, but at least at he did.
