UK Costco would work out more expensive for me, tbh, and they'd not meet my requirements. When I asked last time I needed new glasses, the ladies working there said they don't honour NHS optical vouchers, nor do they do the usually-optional extras that I need; photoreactive lens coating to protect my eyes and double lens thinning just to fit the lenses in a frame.

So I guess that Costco might be good if you just needed bogstandard glasses, but if you need anything "complicated", then you're fucked.

What about Specsavers? That is what I use, because they are cheapest but I am in Norway and the prices may differ?

Specsavers is where I've gone for years. Their deal where you get free photoreactive lenses if you buy glasses costing £65 or more is wonderful for me. And they take the NHS voucher. But, unfortunately, lens thinning is expensive and drives the price back up.

I started when I turned 18 and have never looked back! I am lucky in the sense that I don't have to get the lens thinner anymore, so the price isn't too bad.

I love the 2 for 1 deal, especially when they have it for sun glasses* which means for the first time in my life I can walk in the sun without issues!

I used to have that deal as well, but here in the UK there's not much call for sunglasses, so I wouldn't get them. The lens-thinning is too expensive though now, and I can't afford to pay for the photoreactive coating, so no more 2-for-1 for ansela.

Okay, so I haven't had my glasses updated in around half a decade, which was fine up until a couple months ago. And I have a Costco membership, but also insurance.

What is the pricing like at Costco for a basic pair of prescription glasses? Or contacts? And do they accept insurance?

/will have to spend a fortune on dental, soon, so trying to save on vision

According to my mom, who used to have me go there when she had a membership, she doesn't think they take insurance (but she's not sure) and they're a little more pricey than Wal-Mart but still on the low end of things.

I thought they were really cheap honestly. Now I'm not sure it's really such a great option. Sorry I couldn't be of more help :/
