Prescription is probably not the correct word? The thingy that says what kind of glasses you need, if they are made by the eye doctor you get your glasses for free until you turn 18. I think you might have to apply somehow, but I didn't pay much attention to that as a child. I went every year from the age of 4 until I a couple of years ago, when I was told I didn't need to anymore if nothing felt wrong. The damn eye drops she put in my eyes every other year was hell, nicest doctor I've ever had tho.

Oh wow, that is awful! But I guess your medical personnel are like ours, overworked and underpaid? So one can almost excuse them, even if that isn't something that should have happened.
