I really, really agree with this. I would say the finale did what it needed to do, but it didn't shock or surprise me at all, I saw nearly everything coming. It was good, but it wasn't great, and after all the build up (iirc one of the writers said it was one of the best things they'd ever written) it was very much a let down. So you're definitely not alone in this.
