Favorite music videos?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-25 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
What music videos have you been really moved or awed by recently? I know they have a reputation for being horrible, but there are some good ones out there, too.

The most recent video I saw is Hozier's "Take Me to Church." Holy fuck, I had heard the song once on the radio and kind of liked it, I was not expecting to bawl my eyes out when I found the song on Youtube. It's about homophobic violence, and kinda soul crushing.

What music videos do you like?

I find Ke$ha's "Blow" video entertaining as hell, but the last emotionally moving video I watched is probably "Walk a Little Straighter" by Billy Currington. Then again, that song was a tearjerker to begin with.

"I Drive Your Truck" by Lee Brice makes me tear up every time because it's a song about someone driving his brother's truck after the brother died overseas fighting.

Most country songs I find bring out a lot of emotions in me, but that one in particular lately.

I also watch the country music countdown every weekend, so they're the only music videos I watch regularly.

I looooooove the video for Florence + the Machine's 'Cosmic Love'. It looks like an art installation in motion.

The Timelords - Doctorin' The Who

it's such a dumb video and such a dumb song and I still love it

Also Pat Benatar's Love Is A Battlefield is the best music video ever

it's the funniest video ever, anyway. the terrible acting, 30 year old Pat trying to play a teenage runaway so that kid that's supposed to be her little brother looking more like he's her son, all the hookers showing how mad they are at that one guy (what did he do?) by shaking their boobs at him, it's a laugh riot.

Their latest was interesting too, but it made me go back and remember how much I love Block B's video for "Nilili Mambo". They're PIRATES, modern pirates running around with a giant diamond and chasing chickens and getting beat up and the song is as fun as hell.

"Run, boy, run" by Woodkid. It starts out a bit nightmarish and turns into an epic adventure.http://vimeo.com/m/42615699
