If a guy were doing this to you, would you find it creepy? And if a guy were in your same position, what could he do to NOT be creepy? What would be acceptable and welcome and fun?

Third party jumping in here, but in all honesty? As long as you didn't give off "Nice Guy" vibes and spitefully hate on me because I didn't accept your advances, I would be fine with it. People have crushes on other people all the time, and it's natural to get a bit curious.

To answer your second question, as long as you aren't stalking this person irl then you should be fine. None of the behavior above that the OP is doing is high on the creep-o-meter. People have crushes; we're human and it's a part of life. What comes with the territory of living in a cyberworld where you can search someone's name using Google is maybe looking at their facebook profile out of curiosity. Just try to start a conversation with them over a mutual interest online and see where it takes you. Actually knowing what a person is like by interacting with them instead of fantasizing about doing it will get you where you need to be.
