IF the matter is ever addressed to in canon, I expect both Trucy and Apollo to be furious at him for not telling them. I know I would be. :P

I was very much okay with no having it (as you said, it didn't really fit) but man, wasn't it jarring when I realized it just vanished with no explanation after being built up as the Big Thing Phoenix worked on for seven years.

I was always under the impression that the last trial in AJ was like beta testing, and that the Jurist System wouldn't be widely used for at least a few more years?

Hey, that would be a good explanation! It's a shame they didn't even use it, though. It would have taken care of some inconsistency problems.
