(Anonymous) 2014-02-26 07:41 am (UTC)(link)I saw her first one-woman show years ago ("My Boyfriend's Back and There's Gonna Be Laundry"). My girlfriend and I clutched each other and wept, we were both laughing so hard.
Re: Female Comedians - go!
(Anonymous) 2014-02-26 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)A Brief History of Timewasting by Linda Smith was one of the best things ever by any comedian, male or female.
It's a pity Caroline Quentin gave up stand up, she was amazing in the Mastersons.
Others:
Tina Fey (just started watching 30 Rock, how did I miss it before?)
Victoria Wood (always a sign of quality)
Josie Long (I loved her in All The Planet's Wonders)
Julia Davis (her Nighty Night is TV marmite, luckily I bloody love marmite)
There's so many good women standups in the UK. If we went beyond live comedy and onto comic actresses as well I'd have a list ten feet long.
