So, I went to the doctor's today

Managed to get a repeat of my lansoprazole prescription, which is good. Constantly feeling like you're about to vomit pure stomach acid is not fun in any way.

Spoke to the doctor about my dizziness and chest pains as well. A couple of quick blood pressure tests didn't show anything immediately wrong (although my blood pressure is "rather low"), but standing up didn't induce a dizzy spell that time either, so nothing really conclusive there.

Gotta go for a blood test on Thursday at the walk-in centre (I'd go tomorrow, but I have to wait in for someone in the morning and I'd rather minimise the time that I'm awake before a fasting blood test), and wait for a referral letter to get a heart trace done.

My shoulder pains, which started after a car crash, are unrelated to the other things, probably. And I have to make another appointment to discuss my sleeping problems.

I don't know why I'm feeling a bit disappointed. I knew going in that the GP I'd see wouldn't be able to wave a magic wand and make this persistent chest pain go away. I got the main reason for the appointment sorted, so there's that at least.

Glad you got the main reason sorted and hope you find out how to make the chest pain go away soon.

If you were having constant acid reflux, that chest pain could be from a minor ulcer in your esophagus. You might just have to wait it out for a few weeks while your medication kicks in and your body can heal itself. If your doctor hasn't already suggested it, you might try some over the counter remedies such as pepto bismol or antacids like Pepcid. See if that brings you any relief.

GERD drugs are a blessing and a boon to the universe. *highfive* fellow person-with-GERD.
