Is that really the best you can do for Sherlock drama? The fandom has been angry since "His Last Vow".

...eh? The general tags on Tumblr were nothing but happy recap gifs accompanied by joyous fannit shrieking, the last time I looked. I had to dig for about an hour before I found one even mildly critical review.

Hmm...well, my reaction to HLV was ten times shoutier than this and I wasn't the only one. I was not at all okay with Sherlock shooting CAM.

I do find it interesting that writers seem to be leaving the fandom quietly rather than flouncing.

I never even watched beyond glancing up at The Empty Hearse every now again. It sucked enough, and I got enough of the lowlights from the joyous(??) gif recaps that I gave everything else a miss.

You mean the show's writers? Or the fanfic writers? Because I know back in the day, fic writers who wrote from the ACD canon were largely ignored and/or mocked, in favour of TEH SLASHORRRZZ.

I meant fic writers. The writers from Sherlock aren't going anywhere.

Slash seems to be fairly popular with ACD fic writers - the prompts I saw at the ACD exchange were all Holmes/Watson.

Yeah, the murder was sure dumb. HLV was kind of generally awful for me since it reached new levels of contrived and extra losing any of the "it's just like modern ACD!" claims fans and the writers like to make.

I don't think I've ever had to see a flounce as it happened, but I like to imagine it happens by a writer donning a long curly wig and harumphing while spinning away, and pages of unfinished fic are left in their wake.

It especially pisses me off when people squee over all the ACD references Sherlock makes only to state that Sherlock is totes like a modern version of the Canon.

I swear I could write a horribly OOC MLP Snape/Dumbledore/Applejack fanfic and stuff it with ACD references to the brim. And then I would dare people to say that it somehow makes the fanfic in question an ACD pastiche.
