You might think it's odd that that's what he won't do for love, but the truth is, that entire song is just about him turning down a relationship with a polyamorous girl. He's very attracted to her, but he knows that he can't deal with nonmonogamy.

Of course, it takes him twelve goddamn minutes to explain that, but eh. Still more concise than that time he tried to tell a girl that he liked making out with her in his car.

That's the first time I've read the lyrics. The music actually a bit before my time. I've never heard the girl's part before. I've only ever heard the beginning.
