Yeah, that seems to push it to almost troll categories. "I'm not sexist, but let me casually call someone a word widely considered to be very sexist indeed for not being funny."

...although I hear across the pond it's a less awful word, apparently?

I dunno, I'm Australian and it's not all that bad over here. I use it pretty exchangeably with "asshole" for both men and women. Probably more men, TBH.

Also, Jo Brand is awesome and uses "cunt" all the time, so I doubt she'd give two shits about it.

Jo Brand uses cunt a lot, huh? I wonder if OP is secretly Jo Brand's street team. Or maybe it was just a pointed way of attacking someone OP hates, which is fine by me.

Also, cunt is one of my favorite words.

I'm Australian and in my experience it's an absoltuely terrible word, and not used interchangably for anything. :/

Very much casual slang across the pond. I wouldn't use it at work but I don't bat an eye as it's not hugely gendered here. I do avoid using it on more international sites such as FS but I'd use it in tumblr to fellow Aussies.

Can't comment on comics though, as like anon I tend not to care for them.
