Crazy headcanon ahead!
I don't know what you know about Supernatural, but there is an angel named Gabriel. He goes into hiding while using the guise of a trickster, specifically Loki. So Gabriel knows Loki from his days as God's messenger and he asks Loki if he can masquerade as him down on Earth. Loki doesn't give a shit as long as Gabriel isn't lame and ruins his rep.
I -think- I want this part to happen post Avengers. Pretend Thor 2 does not exist. I think this would occur post season 5 while ignoring SPN canon (because it is terrible). But while Loki is jailed Gabriel reveals he is not dead. And that he decides to play matchmaker.
He thinks that Castiel would be good for Loki because he can help ground him. Castiel also has father issues but is way more adjusted. Castiel could support Loki and help him become a better person (maybe not a hero but not a villain). Loki would help Castiel loosen up and have fun. He also has experience with governing (he was raised a prince after all). Both are virtually immortal and indestructible.
So Gabriel hooks them up (maybe he works with Odin/Frigga/Thor who know Gabriel from when he was pretending to be Loki). They hit it off and slowly make each other better people.
I also have this headcanon where Castiel introduces the Winchesters to SHIELD. Tony and Dean geek out over technology and cars. Sam and Steve geek out over literature and reading and such. Eventually SHIELD hires Sam and Dean to help lead the new supernatural division of SHIELD. Sam is over the desk work/research segment while Dean is in charge of field work and recruiting. Tony makes them awesome hunting tech and stuff to protect them.
There is some other stuff, but that is the gist of it.

:D There is such a huge smile on my face (and I don't do slash). But this sounds so cute! (Apologies if that wasn't the kind of compliment you wanted). But I would read this. And yes, please have the Winchesters meet S.H.I.E.L.D.
