Re: Your least favorite casting decisions!

A lot of what immediately comes to mind is comic book movies, Jessica Alba in Fantastic 4, Halle Berry in X-men, everyone except Michael Keaton who played Batman.

It's not even a "oh they were wrong for X character" thing half the time but it's a combination of 1. terrible acting 2. bad writing for that character and 3. then them also being wrong for the character. I am fine with changes from comic to big screen, but you have to have at least a little bit of respect for the character and not just "let's insert big name/hot actor here."

The X-men movies were particularly weird sometimes because you had a cross between people who knocked it out of the park and people who were so bad that they felt like they were bringing the whole movie down.

Oh yes, Halle Barry was terrible. I don't remember enough of FF4 to comment on Jessica Alba. :P

Who were your favorite actors in the X-Men series? I love all the actors for Xavier (Stewart and McAvoy) and Magneto (McKellen and Fassbender).

I agree with you on Xavier and Magneto having great actors and they are definitely my favorites. I also think Jackman does an excellent job as Wolverine, like he's not exactly Wolverine but you can tell her really poured his heart into the performance to get himself as close as possible (I am more then sick of Wolverine but it isn't Jackman's fault.)

I also enjoyed Famke Janssen and James Marsden, they also aren't exactly Jean and Scott but I enjoy them as actors.

Rebecca Romijn was an excellent Mystique to the point that Jennifer Lawrence is not even close to living up to her performance.

I even hated Keaton as Batman. I am a hard person to please.

My only complaint about Keaton is I don't think he made the best Bruce Wayne, he didn't look like or act like Bruce, but he made a good Batman.

My favorite Bruce was probably Bale but Bale was so terrible as Batman that it makes me cringe so I can't even give him credit for being a decent Bruce half the time.

Clearly the only way to fix this is to have a magical girl style transformation from Bale to Keaton when Bruce dons the cape.

LMAO Haha seriously, you don't know how many times I've thought, "Damn if only we could COMBINE them, we'd have a great Batman."

I totally agree with you! I thought Keaton made a terrible Bruce Wayne, which is why I didn't like him. And Bale was pretty good as Bruce, but yes, his Batman was awful (not just his acting, but I also didn't like the costume, haha)
I want an actor who can play both. (I actually think Affleck could potentially be capable of it, but he's going to be in that Goyer/Snyder mess, so whatever.)
