Is there anyone else who just CANNOT DO scary shit?? I see people saying like "x was so scary i had nightmares for weeks, it was awesome!!" But i hate being scared. And it happens so easily...i just watch a lets play of a mildly scary game and couldnt sleep right for weeks :(

I can't. I used to try and suck it up so people wouldn't mock me or whatever, but at this point in my life I know that it's not even worth it. I just absolutely hate being scared in any way and I know where my limits are so avoid anything that would scare me.

But there are a few "scary" things that I enjoy only because I don't actually find them scary but more funny.

I don't like being scared but I don't get scared by watching things. It's things like haunted houses and stuff that make me go "no fucking way".

Scary things just generally bore me. I've yet to find a horror movie that scared me. The funny thing is, I have an anxiety disorder. But somehow my brain knows something is fictional and refuses to be scared by it.

Yep, horror movies are amusingly fake or boringly fake, to me. Psychological thrillers on the other hand? No. Just. No. Nononononono.

I don't like scary things. Much higher tolerance for scary books, but still don't generally enjoy them.

I hate scary things/cannot do scary shit. I once read a book when I was like 10 or 11 that kept me from sleeping for three nights because I was so terrified, and it was awful. So I don't watch horror movies, I don't ride roller coasters, I don't play scary games, etc.

"Thrill" scares like rollercoasters dont bug me but i feel u on the rest of it. The ghostwriters eps with the bubblegum monster scared me for literally years when i was a kid. Dnw

I don't like doing scary shit either. I hate horror movies and horror/survival horror video games. So, you're not alone!

I love scary movies/shows/books but not scary games, because the immersion works very differently for me. Games feel threatening in a way most movies don't. Scary levels or areas are fine, but not horror as the main event, especially not with lots of fast, aggressive undead. I blame Thief: The Dark Project and that damn Cathedral. Never got past it. I got the pants scared off me a couple times in Thief 3's Shalebridge Cradle and still enjoyed it, but there are elements of reality in there that made me mad enough to hunt down one class of enemies when I didn't have to. So anger-power helps sometimes, but it's probably best to just avoid scariness altogether when you can if it's really bad for you.

That makes sense, though, since in games you're in control of the character on-screen so you're "responsible" for the horror that may occur to them. With movies/shows/books, you're more or less a passive observer, so it's easier to detach from. Like I can marathon scary movies no issue, but I play Silent Hill and I'm sleeping with the lights on.

I am a total scaredy-cat, esp with supernatural stuff. I can watch humorous horror films or campy ones (though those tend to scare me to a degree) sometimes. I would love to re-read some of the horror novels I read as a teen but I think they would scare me too much. LOL

Yes, oh my God. I hate getting scared and don't understand why people willingly watch horror movies. The other day I watched some of The Village or whatever it was called, that one M. Night Shyamalan movie, and even though it was kind of a stupid movie and everything was fake at the end, I had trouble getting to sleep that night.
