I have kinks that I find incredibly hot in porn that are dangerous, illegal, harmful, and the complete opposite of sexy in real life.

In fact, a lot of them are only sexy because they're porn (and animated/drawn porn at that; I wouldn't even watch real people participate in them). So yeah, I'm honestly hoping that anyone with, say, a lolicon kink isn't going to be participating in that irl.

(Note: I don't have a lolicon kink, that was just an example)

I can understand not wanting to do stuff like that in real life. But I'm surprised that there aren't more people who would do BDSM in real life.

Something I've noticed about the kind of BDSM-type kink that tends to get depicted in porn doesn't take into account Safe, Sane, Consensual rules. It probably gives people who are interested in it the wrong idea about how the scene actually works.

tbh, all the leather, dungeons, straps, toys and whatnot aren't an aesthetic I like particularly irl either... so I think for just about everyone there's a lot of incompatibility between what they like in their sex lives and what they find arousing in porn, even for stuff that is possible outside of fiction.

That's true. The leather and dungeons and stuff aren't my thing either but that's the most common image associated with this stuff.

Yeeep. And don't even get me started on meet-ups that are 90% people 20-40 years older than the people (ie. teens, twenty-somethings) that are just getting introduced to the idea for the first time.

Man, walking into a dark room and getting hit on by a group of 50 year olds wearing latex is probably not what your average 19 year old thinks is a good time, so I can understand the reluctance to explore it irl.
