(Anonymous) 2014-03-01 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)JSYK If one has a weak constitution, some OTC meds can make you feel completely abnormal and out of it. The tradeoff being the ability to breathe, for me, so yeah.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-02 03:29 am (UTC)(link)*I do this. Usually I end up writing about drinking and being drunk. So really not that creative, but I am not a great writer to begin with. Though I think a lot of famous alcoholic writers also write about alcoholics and drinking and being drunk.

I'm sorry if you thought I was suggesting all writers get drunk or even that every writer needs it though. That certainly was not my intention in that comment. .__. More that it's not surprising if the OP feels more relaxed and therefore capable to write secrets that they otherwise wouldn't because the inner perfectionist that most people have is out for a break.
Alcohol is a very subjective thing. Tis why people who have a little more than they could handle react differently. There's sleepy drunks, angry drunks, depressed drunks, happy drunks, etc. I myself tend to be the silly, happy drunk that wants to dance to bad karaoke. But anyway, when associating that with writers, it's a very your mileage may vary thing. Some people might want a glass to make their inner perfectionist shut up so they can get their first draft done, and others don't even want to touch the stuff. Either way is fine.
Writers are prone to alcoholism because the writing life can be rather depressing. You usually have an odd schedule, spend a lot of time inside and isolated from other people. And you are working hard!
I know it's not any of my business and feel free to refrain from sharing if you feel uncomfortable, but is everything okay? It seems like you're rather stressed. If you need an ear to talk to about something, I promise I won't judge.
