Don't know if you're just being sarcastic (in which case I totally agree with you!) -- but if you're genuinely curious, the series is called "Shi Ga Futari Wo Wakatsu Made". I read the first volume back when it first came out, many years ago, but I wasn't as gung-ho about it... Maybe I should give it another chance.

Oh, it's not good by any stretch of the imagination.

Complete pulp, but it included a swathe of my favourite things.

Oh no, fandoms don't have to be "good" for me to like them -- and I do love pulp! It's been too long for me to remember why it didn't quite catch my attention, but I definitely think I'll give it another shot soon :)

Person of Interest. I watched the first episode expecting nothing besides a regular, somewhat boring cop show. God, was I wrong.
The relationship between the two main characters hits all of my absolute favourite things, NY is absolutely beautiful, Shaw is so hot I can barely breathe every time she's on screen, the banter is funny and sweet and anything but forced, and i find myself caring about the case of the week more than in other shows, and i think im in love with a geeky middle-aged billionaire help
also theres a dog <3
im becoming less and less coherent as im typing this but it just shows how much i love this show

That sounds like my experience with PoI.

Shaw is awesome in and of herself, but I have also mentally cast her as Kate Daniels, which makes her doubly so in my mind.

I really really loved the beginning of the series. Don't know how far you are, but the pacing eventually slows down a lot. Like shonen style, battles that last 10+ chapters a lot. :(

Stopped reading and started reverse-image searching right there. Came back to skim the the rest, then cleared my afternoon schedule. And the art's good, too? Sheeeet, thanks.

I guess the latest thing that really delighted me was also a manga a lot like Until Death Do Us Part, Gangsta, which is basically a DOGS: Bullets and Carnage clone. It occurs to me that my preferences aren't unpredictable.

Hah, for introducing me to another DOGS-like manga, you are, too. Gangsta's story is about as clever as its title, but it's entertaining and the fights are great. Pretty decent depiction of a deaf main character, too.

Well this manga feels your criteria...The Hunger Games, for me, was a random pick that hit all my favourites (I was actually after Game of Thrones and got the titles mixed up).
