Well, I guess that makes sense, but I'm not sure if and how it works up as north as I am (almost at the point where the sun doesn't come up at all for some of the winter).

I did some actual research on this. I think we mostly use temperature to measure seasons. Usually our winter starts in November, spring at the end of March, summer at May and autumn in September.

Interesting! Those times would match up for our temperatures too (well, probably October for autumn here, we don't have much spring or autumn. The beginning of March would make sense for spring except for the times we've gotten snow the third week of March...)

Spring is our shortest. Which is sad because I love spring. :( Daaaamn you long-as-frick winters!

I love spring because it means winter is done! Ours are short and generally mild and it's still too much for me.

I love spring because there's light and life and birds are singing. Our winters can get freezing cold, but the absolute worst is the darkness. Around December our days are like 5 hours long. We do get payback in summer when the nights are 5 hours.
