Undercover as Couple/Pretending to be Married is sooooo good. I have read many a Sherlock fic with that trope.

And yeah, not a big fan of love triangles. But then not a big fan of romance in general (except for fics).

I am sad that I'm no longer in any fandom that produces many Undercover as Couple fics. :( I need to get back into police shows.

I like romance okay if it doesn't consume the rest of the plot and if it's healthy and if the partners are shown as equals and if it doesn't feel tacked on just for the sake of romance and if both of the characters have characters and interests and friends outside each other... Yeah. I'm picky. But even if all of those things were true in some show, I'd still loathe a love triangle.
