I fed the ducks and swans at the local pond. It was so much fun until they realized that they could either wait in the water for my to throw them the bits of bread, or they could go after the rather large bag of bread I was holding and get it all at once. The ducks waddled up on the ground and circled behind me. The Swans went for a straight forward assault... I can still hear the hissing.

Still a fun day. I like birds.

Oh, hope you didn't get hurt by the birdies.

I like birds too. Haven't fed them in year. In our local pond it's forbidden, because then they won't leave for the winter and then they'll freeze to death.

I think it's mostly the combination of lack of food and cold weather, but it does happen here. :( (though I admit I don't know how many die of starvation and how many of cold, but the point is, around here you don't feed the birds, they need to leave)
