I really dislike the idea of people denying that in older societies male inherit first. It still exists in some RL royal families, though more and more are doing away with it.

Surely you can wish that Sansa would be the Queen in the North (or even think it's possible) without denying that male inheritance existed/exists.

I am not a GoT fan, so I have not real knowledge of Sansa, or whether or not she could legitimately be Queen of the North.

The issue of male inheritance comes up on occasion in LotR discussion as well.

You can wish for it, but denying that she has absolutely no right to be Queen in the North as long as her two younger brothers live or implying that she would ever want to take away what belongs to her younger brothers in the society she grew up in is bullshit.

FYI, possible RTYI: When the British monarchy changed the law so that Will & Kate's kid would inherit no matter the gender, there was a proposal put forth in the Canadian province of Quebec to declare that unconstitutional. The supreme court threw it out, but if it had passed and Prince George had been a Georgina there was the chance that, while she would have still been Queen across the commonwealth and for the other 12 parts of Canada, a younger brother might have become King of Quebec. *Just* Quebec.

I have heard of Quebec wanting to seperate from the rest of Canada, but that tactic takes the cake! XD
