I've only watched the first 8 episodes of Season 1
This makes me kind of sad, because your last episode was "Bugs", which is universally considered one of the worst episodes of early SPN. (There have been worse in later seasons, but there was even an in-show apology for that episode.) But stopping watching after "Bugs" means you missed out on the awesomeness of episodes 9-12 and that's a pity.

Really? I figured I'd always get to finishing the first season at least. So on your recommendation, I will! And yeah, the bug episode was a little weird.

Please do watch more. I know the Show hate is strong in F!S, but it really is a good show, with a lot of amazing, wonderful, fun, horror-y moments. Does it have its problems? Sure. But all the hate this show gets here is kind of over the top.

I'm pretty biased, but if you liked the beginning of Season 1 well enough, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy the rest of it. And I'm also pretty sure that if you finish Season 1, you'll be watching Season 2 too ;).

If you don't want to watch the whole series the Season 2 finale is a good place to make a cut, because it ends on a mostly positive note and the first big myth-arc is finished. After that - proceed at your own risk. The show can be pretty brilliant but it can also be really, really bad. And depressing...
