Guess what happens when people get into a large enough group anywhere in the world? they say and do stupid shit. And the next generation of idiots is no more idiotic than we are, and we were no less stupid than the morons that came before us. We just have our own stupid filters (Like how we can't accurately hear what our own voices sound like until someone records us), and our own stupid peers in our own stupid circles constantly reinforcing the false idea that we are better and less stupid than those other stupid people.
The stupidity doesn't really get collectively any less stupid regardless of the direction you travel, it just evolves in to new breeds of stupid that we trick ourselves into believing is smarter than the previous and next stupid.
TLDR amazement at stupidity is the mark of the un-self-aware.
