I would wonder why OP is just now concluding this because they're not longer friends. Unless if there's an example, it's a bit doubtful. People aren't so simple; someone could have a bitchy side while still being genuinely concerned for others.

In my experience, most people aren't as simple as being good or evil with little wiggle room in between. I also know that most people who end on bad terms with someone try to assume the worst in them, whether it's true or not.

If the OP had given an example, I would be less skeptical about their claim. But otherwise, it seems like a very sad way to live to think everyone who is kind to you has a selfish motive behind it.

When you don't provide more details into your claims, people are going to get skeptical about it. *shrugs*
