I would probably set up some kind of general store/trading post and hand out rations. I live in a small foresty village too but I don't really have wood-chopping and hunting skills, or food-growing skills. I think I'm the type to assume a leadership position only if nobody else is doing an adequate job, so that might happen.

I actually had a really vivid dream once where it was kind of a Postman like scenario, except everyone still had their regular houses, and they couldn't leave for some reason. But I could because I had rollerskates? So I delivered the mail to everyone.
