That when you place a telephone call, the polite way to begin the conversation is with a prompt "Hello." Not "yes" (unless the other person answered with "Can I help you?" or similar. "CAN I help you," not "HOW MAY I help you," in which case the proper response is to tell them what you fucking need,) and not, for the love of God, by continuing a conversation you're having with somebody else in the room.

Also, that "ma'am" is a polite form of address for any woman over the age of 16 or so, and not an insult or a snide comment on one's age or attractiveness.

And that it's goddamn dangerous to try to make a purchase, or really talk at all, over a cell phone while in the driver's seat of a moving vehicle. There are laws against distracted driving for a REASON. Pull the hell over and conduct your business safely from a stationary location.

I don't mind being called "ma'am" at all. I'm not fond of "miss" because that's something you call high school girls and I'm a middle aged woman.
