Stupid little annoyance

(Anonymous) 2014-03-04 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
An author I really dislike in my tiny fandom just put up a story that looks like it might have similar themes to the big "stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something more ambitious than my usual projects" fic I'm currently working on. This is not discouraging me from my own writing, but it's giving me a cranky, "No! Mine! You of all people can't have this!" reaction.

I've had petty reactions like that too. It happens.

We've all been there in one form or another, anon. And not just in fandom. :)

Sounds natural and it's perfectly okay so long as you realize that it's not a legit complaint and you can't call dibs on an idea or a theme.
