When people don't stand to the right and walk to the left on escalators.
Related: when people don't walk on the right side of sidewalks.

(I work downtown in a big city, and I'm usually walking the opposite direction of traffic. People will still walk in the small one-person lane I (and others near me) have carved for myself on the correct side of the sidewalk. Take it down a notch. That extra 2.5 seconds you save by bobbing and weaving won't add up to enough time to stop for coffee, I promise.)

People who go against the flow of traffic are terrible. Also those people who don't walk on the conveyor belt things in airports. So then you have to stand behind them instead of zooming ahead.

If you're in a tourist city, those left-side walkers might be British. We tend to walk on the left here, just like we drive on the left.

Huh! I did not know that! Learn something new every day.

I have to be honest, though-- if there's a flow of several hundred people all walking in one direction, I feel like it might be time to try to overcome your natural instincts and go with the crowd, even if it feels uncomfortable.

That said, I'll do my best to restrain my silent annoyance, knowing that maybe it's just a cultural thing :)

Aussie here - we're the same!

The only difference is my driveway - I live in a block of over 30 townhouses, and the button to open the gate has to be driver-accessible, which means people drive on the right-hand side to reach it. It can be irritating for resident drivers when someone comes in that doesn't understand that. (I don't drive, and Mum doesn't anymore either.)

I think the right/left issue is around the other way here - I think it's influenced by the way traffic goes, and Australia is a lefthand drive (that is, cars drive on the lefthand side of the road) country.

The escalator issue drove me crazy when I lived in New York. Mostly it was subway escalators and people standing on the left side when there's an unspoken rule that's reserved for walkers. It's the New York subway dammit, we're all in a hurry. Go to a department store if you want to stand around on an escalator and gawk at your surroundings.
