Writing is a job if you're getting paid for it.

Oh, for God's sake... The secret is about writing fanfiction. Hence my comments are about the secret; not published authors.

There are published authors who get paid for their fanfiction-- look at all the Jane Austen sequels and Sherlock Holmes stories out there. It just happens that their fanfiction is from original works in the public domain. There's nothing wrong with wanting to get paid for your work, even if your work started off as a hobby.

"In the public domain" hence no owners.

Far away from me, I hope.

You think that writing as a job and writing as a hobby is the same thing?

You think people who write for money didn't start out as people who wrote for fun?

You think people who write for money never write anything for fun?

Starting as a hobby =/= doing it as a job.

You think everything they write for fun sells, even if they aren't famous and don't have a solid fanbase?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
I think there's too much "you think?" in this thread?

Do I think that?

Yes I do.

Then write original fiction.
