23. As much as I am totally, madly, completely in love with Godot? I was totally underwhelmed by that case. No case will ever be epic like the fourth case from the second game was, sorry. ):

37. I'm just hoping it isn't bad. I HAVE FAITH IN TIM BURTON, but knowing the history of Fleet Street murders fairly well means that if there are egregious historical inaccuracies.. they're all I'll focus on. woe.

40. .... AHAHAH awww. I sympathize, if only because I did something exactly like that once, only ten times more egregious. I blame RP several years ago for making me associate Yuki Sohma with Arthur Dimmesdale to the point that I actually called him "Yuki Dimmesdale" once - and I didn't realize it until the friend I was with went "who?" I couldn't breathe for laughing for about two minutes.

sad gumshoe icon, aww. ):

but yeah. it was really just.. I don't know. 1-4, 1-5, and 2-4 ALL beat out that case - which is the last case with Phoenix as defense attorney! Yes, getting to play as Edgeworth was pretty awesome, but otherwise.. it could have been done better, seriously.

The whole game could have been done better... I think the main problem with the last case is that every event from Phoenix being hospitalized and the "You were supposed to protect Mia!" subplot with Godot felt too tacked on and unbelievably coincidental. Granted, the Phoenix Wright games were never intended to be realistic, but that's no excuse for sloppy storytelling.

And Morgan Fey would have been a much better choice for a "Final Boss" than Dahlia.

I love Godot like he's I'm blind, but I thought case 5 was just a badly executed downer. Not a suitable ending to the Phoenix Arch at all.

alskjfha dude YES. but ... ugh, yeah. I like the way it tied up ALL the loose threads from all the games - that was pretty cool. But .. there were so many more interesting things about the last case of the second game, like the split decision and the final evidence presentation.. ending on THAT note would have been a fitting ending to the series, to me. Or hell, moving Rise From The Ashes to the end of THIS game would have done a better job! Godot going BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW for five minutes? not so much, even despite my love for him.

Whut? You do know it's the Sondheim musical, right? Total fiction.

[identity profile] aishiteru.livejournal.com 2007-11-13 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
.... nope! I had absolutely no idea such a musical even existed. (I have to look it up now, you realize.) oh well! I feel better about at total departure, actually. at least it goes for broke instead of half-assing or some such.

[identity profile] trinity-destler.livejournal.com 2007-11-13 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, I can't believe you wouldn't have come across it, it's huge. Wiki knows (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeney_Todd_(musical)). If you like black comedy, tragedy and musicals it's pretty much the best thing ever.
