(Anonymous) 2014-03-06 01:06 am (UTC)(link)Thank you! It killed me a few minutes later, but I'm going to try leveling before I give up entirely.

I like to level up ridiculously just for fun so I never have that issue. If you have other commitments that's less appealling.

Just checking how long I've played BD already - 109 hours. And I'm only at the start of the second loop. I'm taking a break from it now to be honest, so I don't burn out. Only Fire Emblem: Awakening beats it on my 3DS at 292 hours played so far and still counting (getting all the supports conversations is still fun.)

There's so much content in FE:A it's unreal. Not just the game, which I plan to play through again with different pairings and on a harder level than the easy-peasy beginners one I have now. But all the supports, and the DLC (I love the scramble DLCs for extra comedy convos) and the dozens of past characters you can battle.
(At 292 hours, I still haven't beat the game once totally. That's appalling, isn't it?)
I don't want it to end but now I'm ridiculously overlevelled from when I went for all the kids' support convos. I think it might be better to leave that save slot as it is and begin again on normal hardness level/classic insta-death for the full story effect.

You have no idea about my crazy intensive FE:A playstyle. I started keeping a whole exercise book of notes about who should marry who and what skills to pass onto the kids and what skills I wanted. Excessive.
I was enabled slightly in my overkill by blue on tumblr, who has whole marriage ref grids based on what pretty hair colour she wants her super-sprogs to have. (Red always best, in my opinion. My Gerome is red.)

My first playthrough, I married Frederick the super tank. First love, awww. But not such a good long term option as his growth rates get very low.
This time, I've been holding off until I had all the kids. But now I still can't decide between Laurent, Owain or Gerome (or Brady! sudden love for Brady this playthrough after I levelled Lissa up properly and all Brady's support convos about him being weak now make zero sense.)

(Anonymous) 2014-03-06 05:22 am (UTC)(link)All of your pairings are adorable! And yes, I find red to be the best, too. I played a boy Robin the first time around so I could have a girl version for Hard mode, so I married Panne and I was happy with my choices. It'll be a hard choice when it comes time to replay, though... I really like a lot of the kids.
Fire Emblem: Awakening spoilers
Third time, I started a normal-difficulty game with a boy Avatar. Now I can pair up with Chrom a lot more in battle and not get accidentally married, whoops. I was always avoiding him as I like to pair him with Sumia purely because she can fly early on and carry him out of trouble.
Though apparently I need to marry Chrom during some playthrough for all the chapters to make complete sense? I dunno, I just don't feel anything for Chrom. Sorry mate, I'm sure you're a lovely guy. How about I marry your kid from the future instead? Isn't that better? Ha ha.
I find it a bit weird marrying Nowi and Panne to humans. I keep not wanting to think how the practicalities work. Nowi of course is a tank with massive growth, so I marry her off while kind of pretending I'm not because of her creepy character design. This time I did Lon'qu/Nowi. Why did I do it? No!!!!!! The Nah conversations are so unsettling with him as the dad. Or with any of her dads, I suppose.
My first playthrough, I married Panne/Ricken, since I wanted neither of them to do anything saucy with an actual adult human. A chaste, solely battle-based marriage of convenience. Then they had a kid! Arrgh! Although Yarne is great.
Anyway, I keep losing Vaike now. Stupid Vaike. Easily the hardest to keep alive/level up at the start.
