Well, to be fair, I can't say I read nearly the same amount of proper books as I did when I was younger (what with the daily grind of life and the deterioration of my aging brain cells), although I do read daily, and part of my job includes reading (scientific research).

I do notice I have a much higher standard for fiction than I used to when I was younger; if I can tell right from the start that it's some vapid soap bubble of a trope-laden thing the likes of which I've read a billion times before, I give up entirely. Life is far too short.

None of which applies to ACD of course, I'm a Canon purist. :-)
