I'm staying at a relative's house while they're on vacation and I'm using their computer (No smartphone, no wifi). I can't really enjoy surfing the net because of that. I can't concentrate. It's kind of like trying to read while someone's standing over your shoulder. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Not really. Do you mean - because it's their computer, you feel like they will 'know' what you're doing?

Dl a different browser than the one they normally use, and use that, with the history function turned off, and uninstall it before they come home. You'll be fine.

I felt the same way before I got a smart phone and had to use my mom's iPad whenever we were on a trip somewhere with no computers and/or wi-fi. Even though it was mostly just LJ and f!s and stuff, I still felt the need to clear browser history and stuff when I was done because some part of me was like "What if she types in the letter 'f' and f!s is the first thing to pop up and she goes there to see what I'm 'into' and is like 'the fuck is this?'"

Haha, my paranoia only stretches that far. When I introduced my mom to Doctor Who, it took her three seasons to remember what the Daleks were called. She likes watching things, but then she also likes forgetting about them and moving onto the next thing.

Daily fandom discussion is not her thing.
