To the anon who posted about the first day of autum/ spring. You were right. Several countries (australia, NZ and russia) declare the first of the month as seasonal changes rather than the equinox like the US does. Rock on you special snow flake countries.

As an Australian, I think for us, the equinox is considered more towards the middle of the season than the start of it. Solstices are also considered mid-season as well.
