I find it kind of hard not to see Becky as a stand-in for fans in general. Rather than as one specific fan character.

Do you know fans like that? For real? People like that are in the minority, not the majority.

People acting crazy on tumblr does not mean they act that way in reality, yeah it may indicate that they're a little off but you could also be misreading them. That still doesn't mean they'd go and kidnap people. Being capable of kidnapping and crimes against another person is a whole other level.

And those people have problems way outside of fandom, I always find it a bit strange to blame fandom for one person's serious mental issues. It has nothing to do with being a fan and everything to do with someone needing help, badly.
