i haven't actually read 'rivers of london,' but i keep coming across/hearing references to it. how is it? worth reading?

Very much so. Skip book three though, nothing happens in it, it is all just moving characters around in prep for book four. Well, a character. Okay, its all about including Lesley just so her actions in the book four cliffhanger have a bit more weight.

Read them but don't skip book 3. It might be filler, but it's entertaining filler. Also lot's of whump and cosy christmas feels.
