You think the SPN writers went the comic route? Huh. I feel like they've really done away with most of the humor, throwing in a gross out stupid episode every half-season or so.

Supernatural is 90% brothers angst and 10% comedy now and days. They have some funny episodes, but Sam and Dean's love-hate for each other has been strong recently.

Uh...you haven't watched Supernatural in a long time, have you. They have a 'funny' or 'comic' episode maybe once a season. Sure, there are moments in more episodes that are funny or silly, but it's sure as hell not a *comedy*.....

Preach! Also the dialogue seems so forced it's like they're not even trying with fluency between comedic relief or scene change for that matter.

There are a lot of problems with the SPN storylines and character development for many seasons now but I really don't think being too comedic is not one of them.

I'm not sure 'comedic' is the right word, but I know exactly what you mean. The tone of SPN changed. Even the serious episodes have an element of crack to them. Maybe it's just that everything seems OTT. Personally, more than anything, I hate that they stopped using the gritty camera filters. The show just LOOKS wrong now.

verily this. The comedy doesn't really bother me anymore but that's just because I don't take the show seriously at all, anymore. The first two seasons were fantastic, everything since then has been super inconsistent and that is what bothers me.
